LOS ANGELES,
CA (May 2005) - Barry Meguiar,
President/CEO of Meguiar's, Inc., is the inaugural recipient of the Petersen
Automotive Museum's Automotive Icon Award that was presented at the Museum's annual Cars
& Stars Gala. The award was created
by the Museum to recognize the distinguished careers of the most prominent
members of the automotive industry and car hobby.
Meguiar
was selected as the initial honoree because of his lifelong influence on and
passion for the car hobby, which spans the entire automotive world from car
manufacturers to prominent car guy events, and for his sponsorship of thousands
of car shows worldwide. Whether he's
working with the car manufacturers in Germany or talking with diehard
enthusiasts at car events of every kind on most weekends, Meguiar
is equally at home.
